The Living Last Supper
“The Living Last Supper” will be presented Thursday, March 29th at 7:00 PM in the main sanctuary of Wesley United Methodist Church. “The Living Last Supper” is a dramatization of the gospel story as depicted by the famous 1498 Leonardo da Vinci fresco in the dining room of the Santa Maria della Grazie Convent Church in Milan, Italy. Each apostle briefly comes to life to speak of his relationship with Jesus and his personal reaction to Jesus’ revelation that one of them will betray him.
The original play was conceived by the Reverend Ernest K. Emurian and first presented at Elm Avenue Methodist Church in Portsmouth, Virginia, in 1954.
